Australia Day is fast approaching and Carlingford will be one of the many suburbs buzzing with life on the 26th of January. And we have the inside scoop to cover all of your Australia day needs, including family and child friendly activities, BBQ’s, carnivals and more!
If you’re hosting your own Australia Day feast at home this year, Carlingford has you covered! Carlingford court is open on the 26th and the 27th between the hours of 10:00am and 4:00pm.
If you’re still trying to find a community function to attend the options are endless. Locally, The hills district and Parramatta hold a number of different activities to keep the family busy all day long!
Held at Balcombe Heights Estate, 92 Seven Hills Road, Baulkham Hills, The council’s main event will have x-Factor’s Samantha Jade preforming live, along with other fantastic local talent. The event runs from 4pm-9pm with a large fireworks display at 9pm.
Between 10am and 1pm, Outside of the Piazza at Castle Hill will be Australia day on the main street, which will include a flag raising ceremony, emergency services expo, local dance acts, wildlife and reptile show, kids entertainment including Greg Page (Former Yellow Wiggle) with Butterscotch’s Playground Show, food stalls and much more!
Australia Day at Parramatta Park is just as huge!
From 6am enjoy the Ariel carnival, which includes mass hot air balloon ascension and at 6am, 7am and 8am enjoy tethered hot air balloon rides (pre-purchased tickets only). Stage programs start at 6am and include The Rock ‘n Soul Choir, Kiki & Pascal and the Stiff Gins.
Other activities include free face painting and airbrush tattoos, amusement rides, food stalls and wildlife shows.
Then from 7pm enjoy the free Dig 1100 concert which features Mitchell Anderson Band and Jessica Mauboy, closing with a huge fireworks display at 9pm
